Berlin (dpa) – The traditional Hotel Adlon at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin will be managed by a female director for the first time from mid-October. Then, according to information from Monday, Karina Ansos will take over the management of the house from Michael Sorgenfrey, who is going on a sabbatical. Sorgenfrey headed the house for three years. Ansos said she is looking forward to continuing the Adlon story with the team.
The 50-year-old Ansos was General Manager at the Kempinski Hotel Frankfurt Gravenbruch for seven years. With one small break, the native French has been working for the company for 23 years. Her career began at what was then the Kempinski Hotel Atlantic Hamburg, followed by positions at the Kempinski Hotel Elephant Weimar, the Tigerpalast Varieté Frankfurt and the Kempinski Hotel Frankfurt. In 2009, she was seconded to China, where Ansos worked in the group’s hotels in Suzhou and Shanghai.
