Potsdam (dpa) – The SPD parliamentary group in Brandenburg sees the municipalities in a particularly difficult situation. “We must not overload the municipalities,” said parliamentary group leader Daniel Keller on Monday, according to a statement. “We stand by their side and want to set up a municipal rescue package in Brandenburg.”
Keller expects the Bundestag to “declare the emergency situation promptly and thus suspend the debt brake”. This enables the country to “take out the necessary loans to take responsibility as a country and show solidarity in the crisis”.
The SPD plans still have to be coordinated with the coalition partners of the CDU and the Greens in the country.
