Four dogs bit a fawn in Lower Franconia and rushed it into the Main. As the police announced on Sunday, a 26-year-old angler tried to save the animal from the dogs and pulled it into his boat in Triefenstein (Main-Spessart district). However, the deer was so badly injured that a hunter had to kill it. The 54-year-old dog owner did not respond to the incident and continued walking. She also did not try to hold the dogs back, said a police spokesman. According to the police, the dogs are believed to have been terriers. The dog owner is now being investigated for violating the Bavarian Hunting Act and the Animal Welfare Act.
