Marlow (dpa / mv) – With two children in the car, a drunk driver caused an accident near Marlow (West Pomerania-Rügen) on Sunday. As a police spokesman said, the 39-year-old came into a curve on Landesstraße 18 by car on the opposite lane, where he collided with another car. Both cars that were thrown into the ditches were totaled.
The 33-year-old driver of the oncoming car and her four-year-old son were injured and taken to a clinic. A seven-month-old baby and an eight-year-old child with shock had to be taken to a clinic from the car that caused the accident. The 39-year-old, who was unharmed, was found to be 1.4 per thousand in a breath alcohol test.
What distracted the man from the Vorpommern-Rügen district so that he got into the left lane is unclear. His driver’s license was confiscated. He is being investigated for endangering road traffic and suspected negligent bodily harm.
