Sandhausen (dpa) – Despite great fan support, 1. FC Kaiserslautern had to settle for a goalless draw in the away game in the 2nd Bundesliga at SV Sandhausen. Ultimately, both teams in the south-west duel lacked the necessary accuracy in the attacking third.
In the table, the Palatinate remain in sixth place with twelve points. The SVS has been waiting for a win for four games now. In the table, coach Alois Schwartz’s team still climbs to 13th place.
In front of 11,378 spectators, who mostly supported FCK, Sandhausen had the better chances. Again and again prevented Lautern’s goalkeeper Andreas Luthe from leading the SVS. However, the guests also had good opportunities. Marlon Ritter failed in the 73rd minute by Sandhausen goalkeeper Patrick Drewes and a little later Terrence Boyd didn’t put enough pressure on the ball with his head.
