Several motorcycle accidents in Thuringia: 23-year-old dies

Erfurt (dpa/th) – A motorcyclist collided with a tree near Dittersdorf (Saale-Orla district) and died. The 23-year-old came off the road in a curve on Saturday for an unexplained cause, as reported by the Saale-Orla police. The man died at the scene of the accident. There were also serious motorcycle accidents elsewhere in Thuringia , according to information from the police department on Sunday.

A 52-year-old motorcyclist had an accident on Saturday between Bucha and Coppanz in the Saale-Holzland district. According to the police, he lost control of his two-wheeler in a left turn. He went off the road and crashed into a tree. According to the police, the man had to be taken to the central emergency room in Jena with an injury to the pelvis.

Also on Saturday, a van in the Eichsfeld district near Breitenworbis collided with a motorcycle when turning towards the A38. The 62-year-old driver of the motorcycle was seriously injured. He had to be taken to the hospital by helicopter. Two occupants of the van suffered minor injuries. The result was a rear-end collision with body damage to two cars.

In the district of Saalfeld-Rudolstadt, a 49-year-old motorcyclist was fatally injured by a deer who passed the federal highway 85 near Fischersdorf. The motorcyclist fell and suffered abrasions and a broken toe. The deer died at the scene of the accident.
