Valorant Champions: LOUD wins tight finals

However, the road to the title was contested and mostly even in the final. Two of the four maps were only decided in overtime. Especially the third duel of the teams on the Map Breeze was like a marathon. Only after 30 rounds played could LOUD celebrate victory at a score of 16:14.

In the end, the line-up of the Brazilian organization played itself into a frenzy. Leading 7-5 at halftime on the final Map Haven, the team went on a six-round winning streak. The map success was synonymous with the final victory.

VCT 2022: Incredible year from LOUD

It’s the culmination of an incredible year for the Valorant pros. The LOUD team was only signed under contract in February of this year. Two months later they celebrated their first tournament victory at the Brazilian Challengers. This was followed by the Masters premiere in Reykjavik, which ended in second place. At that time one team was better, the World Cup final opponent OpTic.

The success also means a first: due to the success of the Brazilian esports organization, for the first time in the history of Valorant, there is no team from North America or the EMEA region, which includes Europe , at the helm of the Riot Games shooter.

Fnatic, Team Liquid and FPX without a chance

While it was an almost perfect tournament for the Brazilians from LOUD – only in the preliminary round did they lose against OpTic Gaming, who was later to face the final – the European representatives in the field of participants can look back on a mixed tournament.

Although all three teams qualified for the playoffs, one end followed the other. Round after round, Team Liquid, Fnatic and FunPlus Phoenix bid farewell to the World Championship one after the other.
