Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler (dpa / lrs) – In a collision between two cars, eight people were injured on the L83 in the Ahrweiler district, including four children. As the police announced on Sunday evening, a 19-year-old came at noon shortly before the entrance to Königsfeld with his vehicle in a right-hand bend for reasons that have not yet been clarified. There he collided with an oncoming car. According to the police, the driver suffered minor injuries and his passenger suffered serious injuries as a result of the impact. The six occupants of the other car, including four children, were also injured, two of them seriously. The three seriously injured were flown to a hospital by helicopter, and the rest were taken to a clinic by ambulance. The L83 had to be closed in both directions for about four hours. The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
