Hamburg (dpa) – The German Davis Cup team still needs a success to win the group at the home game in Hamburg. In the duel between the previously unbeaten nations, Jan-Lennard Struff won 6-1, 7-5 against Australian Max Purcell on Sunday. If Oscar Otte wins against Thanasi Kokkinakis, Germany can no longer take victory in Group C before Kevin Krawietz/Tim Pütz doubles against Wimbledon winners Matthew Ebden/Purcell. This would mean that the German tennis selection would meet Canada in the quarterfinals in Malaga at the end of November. Australia would have to play against the Netherlands.
