Frankfurt/Main (dpa/lhe) – Several hundred people demonstrated in downtown Frankfurt on Sunday against sanctions against Russia. The Association of Russian Germans in Hesse had called for the protest. The number of participants, who called for the opening of the Nord Stream gas pipeline, among other things, was well below the 1,500 registered people. Other Russian-German groups had previously distanced themselves from the event.
At the same time, several hundred people protested against the Russian attack on Ukraine. Many of them carried flags in the national colors of Ukraine, blue and yellow. According to the police, the rallies and subsequent demonstration passed without incident.
