The 20-year-old is being investigated for dangerous interference in road traffic and attempted dangerous bodily harm.

According to the information, the young man drove a car on Sunday night in which several people were sitting. Because he drove into Rhenaniastrasse despite the ban, he should be checked. The police officer walked out onto the road and used a stop stick to urge the driver to stop. However, he accelerated the car and, according to the information, headed directly for the officer.

After the incident, police officers chased the car but lost sight of it. Eventually, they found the rental car abandoned and damaged, including a flat tire. According to witness statements, the inmates are said to have fled in different directions, the police said. Traces were secured and a mobile phone was confiscated. Further investigations would have led the officials to the 20-year-old.
