Oranienburg (dpa/bb) – The detonation of a World War II bomb at the clinker port in Oranienburg has been delayed. As the city spokeswoman said, walkers ran into the cordoned-off area several times. As a result, the demolition squad had to be stopped again and again and the police had to check the area again to make sure that nobody was on the site. There were also technical difficulties with the radio detonator for the detonation.

The police had announced that the area of 900 meters around where the bomb was found would be cordoned off and cleared from 9:45 a.m. The controlled demolition was originally scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Walkers found the bomb on Sunday. On Monday, ordnance experts determined that a demolition was necessary.
