Magdeburg (dpa/sa) – Saxony-Anhalt is to receive a police officer next year. In this way, disputes about possible police violence should be better clarified. The State Chancellery and the Ministry of the Interior are in the process of voting, a government spokeswoman said on Thursday on request. The Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk (MDR) reported about it first.
The state government wants to implement a project from the coalition agreement. The CDU, SPD and FDP had agreed: “We are converting the internal complaints office of the police into an office of a police officer who is independent of instructions and is based directly with the Prime Minister.”
