Berlin (dpa / bb) – The corona incidence in Berlin on Thursday was 201.9. This was announced by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI). The RKI gave the number of new infections registered per 100,000 people in seven days for all of Germany as 281.4. The values have been around this level for a long time.

However, the incidence does not provide a complete picture of the infection situation. Experts assume a high number of cases not recorded by the RKI – mainly because not all infected people have a PCR test done. Only positive PCR tests count in the statistics.

According to the RKI data, 1604 new infections were reported for Berlin within one day. This means that the total number of cases registered since the beginning of the pandemic in spring 2020 has risen to around 1,254,100. No new deaths have recently been registered. According to official statistics, there have been a total of 4,799 deaths in Berlin related to corona infections. That’s 16 more than a week earlier.
