Berlin (dpa/bb) – In Brandenburg, the seven-day incidence of new corona infections on Thursday was just over 323. This was announced by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI). For all of Germany, the value of registered new infections per 100,000 people in seven days is 281.4 according to the RKI. In Berlin, it is significantly lower at around 202.
However, the corona incidence does not provide a complete picture of the current infection situation. Experts assume a high number of cases not recorded by the RKI – mainly because not all infected people have a PCR test done. Only positive PCR tests count in the statistics.
According to the RKI, there were 1,950 new infections in Brandenburg within one day. The total number of cases registered since the beginning of the pandemic has thus risen to 944,853 – the number is below that for Berlin with 1,254,100.
The RKI statistics recorded a new death within one day in Brandenburg. According to official data, there have been 5,895 deaths there so far in connection with corona infections.
