Interim board member Vogel wants "sporting competence" in Aue

Aue (dpa) – FC Erzgebirge Aue has formed a selection committee in order to be able to present a successor to coach Timo Rost and a sports director in a timely manner. “Honorary council and supervisory board will accompany this process in joint meetings. And then it is important to make appropriate decisions promptly,” said former district administrator Frank Vogel, who is now on the interim board of the third division football team, in an interview with the “Freie Presse” (Thursday ).

After the resignation of President Helge Leonhardt, the 65-year-old pensioner emphasized that “mistakes have undoubtedly been made in the past few months”. This negative development is now to be “analyzed in detail”. “In any case, we have to position ourselves even more professionally in some areas if we want to survive in the 3rd and possibly again in the 2nd league. This applies to both sporting competence and internal processes. This will keep the newly elected bodies busy “said Vogel, who, together with interim president Torsten Enders, is primarily responsible for day-to-day business in the transitional body and also prepares the general meeting in November.

There Vogel hopes “from everyone involved that we discuss very objectively, treat each other with respect, look ahead and then support and implement the decisions that are made with great unity. Only together are we strong. Only together can we come out of this difficult situation”.
