Bremen (dpa) – The club legend Claudio Pizarro from Werder Bremen has announced another prominent guest of his farewell game with club great Johan Micoud.
“Unfortunately we didn’t play together, but he’s a very good and popular player,” said the 43-year-old before the emotional game on Saturday (5:30 p.m./Sat.1) at the Wohninvest Weser Stadium. “I’m very happy and I want to show people something beautiful. People should have fun and enjoy football ,” he added.
Entertainer Joko Winterscheidt has also announced his coming, as Pizarro said on Thursday. There are many former Bremen players on the guest list, such as Ailton, Tim Wiese and Zlatko Junuzovic. Older companions like Marco Bode and Dieter Eilts from his early days at Werder are also there. Ex-Bremen professional Max Kruse, who was recently sorted out at VfL Wolfsburg, is also on the guest list.
From his Bayern days from 2001 to 2007 and 2012 to 2015, Giovane Elber, Paulo Sergio, Arjen Robben and Philipp Lahm are also there. A Werder, a Bayern and an international team will play against each other in three times 30 minutes on Saturday. The Bremen team will be coached by Florian Kohfeldt, who will return to the Weser Stadium as a coach for the first time.
In 21 years, Pizarro played four times for Werder and twice for Bayern Munich. He is the oldest goalscorer in the long history of the Bundesliga, as well as the foreign player with the most appearances (490) and the second most goals (197).
