Berlin (dpa) – The German Football Association is about to sell the TV rights for the games of the women’s national teams. According to information from the German Press Agency, three applicants are still in the running.

In addition to the public broadcasters ARD and ZDF, the RTL Group and ProSiebenSat.1 are also interested in the extensive package. The parties involved declined to comment.

The DFB sells the media rights for four years from 2023. The offer includes at least 32 games. But games can also be added. Unlike the women’s Bundesliga, there is no tendering process, but direct negotiations with interested parties.

The rights for the DFB women’s games are currently still held by ARD and ZDF, which have been reporting live for several years. After the quota records and the euphoria at the European Championships in England, the association is hoping for increasing income and wants to complete the process in the next few weeks.
