Hassloch/Palatinate (dpa/lrs) – A 76-year-old pedelec driver was seriously injured in a collision with a car in Hassloch in the Palatinate. As the police announced on Friday, when turning left, there was contact between the electric bicycle and the car driving in the same direction. This caused the pedelec driver to fall. The man hit his head on the road and suffered such serious injuries that he was flown to a clinic by helicopter, police said. The 76-year-old was not wearing a protective helmet. The 18-year-old driver suffered a shock. “The exact course of the accident is currently still the subject of police investigations,” the statement said.
