Berlin (dpa / bb) – The Berlin left advises today from 10 a.m. at a party conference on the consequences of the sharp rise in energy prices. In a motion by the state executive committee, which the delegates are to decide on, the left demands from the federal government, among other things, a monthly energy allowance for households with low and middle incomes as well as a price cap for gas and electricity. The demands also include a legal ban on electricity and gas cuts as well as evictions and forced evictions if people can no longer pay the high heating costs.
Another motion, the adoption of which is considered certain, concerns the party leadership. In the future, the Linke-Landesverband Berlin should get a dual leadership. Katina Schubert is currently the sole party leader. The party executive will be re-elected next February.
