Berlin (dpa / bb) – A defect in a signal box in Berlin led to disruptions in rail traffic on Friday. Trains in the north-south direction that arrive and depart in the lower level of Berlin Central Station are affected, a railway spokesman said. The problems began in the afternoon and resulted in train cancellations and delays in long-distance and regional transport.
Trains on the lines heading north (Hamburg, Rostock, Stralsund) and south (Halle/Leipzig, Dresden) were also affected in the early evening. According to the information, the S-Bahn traffic was not affected by the signal box defect.
