Italy celebrates, England descends

Two months before the World Cup in Qatar, vice-champion England is still looking for form and has to be relegated from the A-League to the Nations League. The Three Lions lost 0-1 (0-0) in Italy and are four points behind in last place in Group A3 before the last game on Monday (8.45 p.m.) against the German national team.

Giacomo Raspadori scored Italy ‘s winner on Friday night at Milan’s Giuseppe Meazza Stadium. The 22-year-old striker scored in the 68th minute after a strong reception of the ball. England captain Harry Kane failed twice at goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma (77th). With the weakened European champions Italy, who missed the World Cup finals, coach Roberto Mancini changed eight positions compared to the 2: 5 against Germany. Gareth Southgate made six substitutions after the embarrassing 4-0 loss to Hungary.

Bosnia-Herzegovina made it into the A-League on the penultimate matchday. After the 1:0 (1:0) against Montenegro, the team of coach Ivaylo Petev can no longer be ranked first in group B3. Augsburg’s Ermedin Demirovic (45+1) scored the winning goal. Georgia is promoted to the B-League after beating the EM participants North Macedonia 2-0 (1-0). Gibraltar has to go to the D-League after the 1: 5 (1: 2) in Bulgaria.
