A 45-year-old driver of a small truck with a vehicle height of 3.30 meters misjudged considerably on Friday morning in Seefeld-Hechendorf when he wanted to turn left from Seestraße at around 10.30 a.m. and pass the S-Bahn underpass in the direction of Grundberg. Because only a passage height of 2.65 meters is permitted there, whereupon, according to the police, the flower truck got stuck in the steel struts of the bridge and the Augsburger was stuck with his vehicle. A first attempt to deflate the tires and thus free the small truck from the predicament failed. In addition, police officers and firefighters tried to lower the vehicle with their weight in the luggage compartment in order to pull it out with a winch – but that didn’t help either. After further unsuccessful tricks, part of the loading area paneling had to be cut out in order to free the van. Because of the accident, the S 8 railway line between Herrsching and Weßling had to be closed from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The bridge was not damaged except for the protective paint, according to the police. The driver would have to reckon with a warning of 40 euros, but the use of the fire brigade and the damage to the bridge would be significantly more expensive. According to the police, the small truck was a total loss.
