A letter to Jina Masha Amini, who died after being arrested by the Iranian police. The headscarf was the occasion, not the reason. They killed her because her existence and her body are a political issue.

The starting point is as ordinary as it is innocent. You are 22 years old, you are female, you come from a region known for its spring full of poppy-covered meadows amidst imposing mountains, as well as for its long and cold winters. You were born and raised in the Iranian province of Kurdistan, not too far from the Iraqi border, you love pop music, both foreign and domestic, you love wearing the traditional Kurdish dresses and dancing at festivals, as well as traveling within Iran’s favorite.
